Great idea to keep both if you can. I just can't get comfortable on a touring bike, but maybe in a few years I'll change my mind.

I'm 28 and ditched my Train last month. Best move I ever did. Got a SG now and love it. You will enjoy being able to actually ride in comfort and carry items with you now.

You dont need to be old to decide to have a touring bike, hopefully you will tour with it.
If you cant keep your Soft tail and get the bagger (I couldnt either, had to sell) enjoy the bagger.
at 35 I started with a Road king, I like to ride and its sooo much easier to carry tools, clothes, misc, etc.. and go away for a weekend or a week at a time, even a day trip to the beach is more fun when you can carry all your stuff.
Enjoy

I was about 23 when when I bought my '74 Electra Glide. That was back when AMF owned Harley Davidson. I was very lucky and got a good one that was tight and right. I have had others since and still missed my Electra Glide. The '96 Sportster was a blast. The '96 Heritage Softail Nostalgia is a blast and i love it very much. But, I am looking forward to having my Road King I just ordered. The test ride I just did a couple days ago made me feel like the '74 EG. Sometimes it is nice to step up to the next level.
Ride Safe!

I'm only 72, so I still love my 99 Softail Custom. I have saggy old throw over bags to carry stuff, and love the way she sounds and feels. I don't think there is any way I could go to a touring bike. I love this thing to much. It just fits me to well. Maybe when I'm 80 LOL.
