03 88 ci softail starter problem with only 20k
Hey guys...having a come & go issue that is progressively getting worse. Acts like the battery is low somwtimes, starter drags with no grinding noise, sounds like low batt. then try again and sounds strong and just fine...no ryme or reason as to when it will do it (cold or hot etc.) battery checked good @ the parts store. Afraid its gonna leave me stranded soon! Anyone experience the same?

I'd start off by making sure all of your battery cables/terminals are in good shape and have a good contact. If everything is good there, I'd put my focus on the battery itself. How old is the battery? I was experiencing the same with my 06 since I bought it last fall with only 4k miles. My battery tested "good" on 2 separate testers......CAT tester at work and Autozone, but could only achieve 85% charge even when trickle charged. Long story short, bought a new battery and haven't had an issue since. BTW....mine was the original battery so it was 6 years old.
