I am looking for some information for a Buddy of mine. He rides a 2004 softail standard. He says on long rides, that the forward controls start to hurt his feet. He is looking to put floorboards. The people at Harley keep telling him that floorboards from a Fatboy won't fit.....
I looked at his frame and mine (Fatboy lo). It looks to me that my controls would fit his bike, basically by just bolting on.... Right?
I think you would have to replace the shifter, brake petal etc. but it should work. Right?
Any information would be appreciated!
I know i have seen something similar on the forum before, but can't seem to find it, and can't waste anymore time at work looking.
I saw many standard bikes with boards so it can be done the frame is the same. Why not just buy them cheap heel rest? They work great and bolt on in seconds now ur hole foot has something to rest on
i figured they would work. thanks for the information guys. my plan is to hopefully find a good set at a junk yard for him... gonna try at least before going pay full dealership prices.
Hey will bolt on but you will need everything from the rear brake setup to the shift linkage. There are some full size clevis bolt on style boards by Drag specialties. You can have him look into
Before blowing big chunks of $ on the MoCo stuff, here are full size boards that fit the FX series, or any bike that has regular pegs. They are adjustable forward/aft & up/down, also. I ran a set of these for a couple years, replacing the stock mounting bolts with stainless steel.

I just sold a new set like that this week for 75 shipped. They stick out too far and just does not have the same look. If your going to do it, do it right! IMHO.
