Yea, I basically try to avoid riding at night also... and after the ride the other day, now I know why. I felt like I couldn't see anything and felt helpless...nothing worse than feeling that on a scoot. lol

And I aint paying $300 for a light... that's just me.

 

I hear ya that $300 seems like a lot to spend on a headlight. But then again, $300 seems like a real small price to pay to enable you to ride safely & confidently at night. I literally love riding at night since installing an LED headlamp. It's sooo damn peaceful, like a totally different riding experience! Mid summer gets so hot around me that nights are the only time that I will ride. And I have bad "night blindness".

IMO, those that don't or can't ride at night due to inadequate lighting, are really missing out on some awesome experiences.

 

I had the same problem, buddy of mine told me I had the weakest headlight he'd ever seen on a Harley. Scared to death at night. So I put in an LED couple weeks ago. HUGE difference at night.

 

Oh yeah, cost around $220 or so. I got the Truck Lite too, easy install, well worth the money.

 

I hear ya man. I would like riding at night if I could see. Same here in Central Cali, during the summer is gets too hot to ride during the day so nighttime rides would be nice.

I may buy the light that machinistmate linked and see if its better.

I forget the name, they're in Georgia. Just look in HD forums for Truck Lite LED headlight phase 7 and you'll find a ton of stuff.

I am a little confused on this though because my stock light is a 5-3/4, which I assume is the diameter? How do I get a 7" in my stock light housing? And is it just a plug and play light?

Sorry, didn't know your bike had the smaller headlight housing. If you where to get a 7" housing the 7" would just drop right in as it is just plug and play, no wiring hassles, as it comes with the correct light connector already installed.
