Engine Guard for a Softail
I have a buddy who got t-bone in an intersection. He had a crash bar and credits that for saving his leg. He got pretty banged up but could have been worse. I have a lindby on mine. Alot of money if you never need it but worth every dime when you do.
the nice thing about the Lindby and a few of the other ones is that even without mounting highway pegs on it you still have another option for a place to stick your foot when you're on a longer trip. Helps to keep your legs from stiffening up when you can re-position them for a few minutes here and there to stretch things out. It's hardly a reclined position that I'd cruise in for an hour or two, but it definitely helps for short stints. If you're a shorter guy they probably could work like cruise pegs and let you stretch it out though.
I am wondering how many of you use a engine guard on your bikes?
I am thinking of getting a Lindbar for my Night Train. Just not sure how it would look.

I would like another place to move my feet other than the foot pegs, and the protection it would offer in a tip over would offer nice piece of mind too.
If you have one on your bike, post a picture.

I've been debating this for a few months... I just installed a chrome HD mustache bar on my Fatboy. Going to take a few days/weeks to get used to the looks... Jury is out. At least I know I'll save money if I drop the S.O.B.
