Default FXSTC - Need windshield

After about 1000 miles this weekend I decided that I really need a windshield. A while back I tried the HD quick release windshield and the buffeting was terrible. Evidently, I am very sensitive to the buffeting and would definitely rather ride with no windshield than experience any buffeting at all. The bike is a 08 Softail Custom with the stock bars and seat and I'm 6 foot with 32 inseam. Anything out there that will not create turbulance and block some air for a little more relaxing ride?

I'm 6 feet and have used a quick detach my last 2 long trips. Yes, there is some buffeting, but I'll live with it. Don't use it around town. Windshields are so expensive, I can't justify trying different ones. Maybe some riding buddies with different set-ups will let you try them out.

Did you try different angles of the shield? Moving it up or down can help too. Lowers cn also help as most of the buffeting actually comes from underneath and then back up over the tank into your chest and face. I believe Memphis Shades sells lowers.

Anyone think "fangs" might help him? Or is that what you had in mind, HD?

Disregard, Clearview shield are replacement only, you have to have the frame.

Yeah, I believe we mean the same things. The little do-hickeys that hang below the windshield on each side.

Do they make them for the FXST?

I have a 99 Softail Custom that I put on a HD quick release, and did have some buffeting. I lowered it by cutting around where it fits over the headlight and moved the bottom clamps down below the lower tripple tree. Then my son bought some clear plastic shields that clamp below the windshield that really stopped the buffeting. He got them at a garage sale for $5.00. They block the air that normally comes over the tank and causes the buffeting. I have no idea who makes them as there is no markings on them.
