Now I need to get an SG just to copy the mods you do too it. You had great ideas and mods on the slim and I copied them and love them. Will miss you. good luck with he sg. I would like a tourer also but not until I can afford a second bike.
Now if the person that buys my slim shows up here you can tell him I copied you..LOL
hay mate just wanted to ask a questions about wheels and tires.
I want to eliminate the gap between tire and fender, apart from lowering your slim did you change the tire size? was thinking of going to a 17 inch to help with the gap.
would of liked to been the lucky ba$#ard to buy your slim by far the best iv'e seen.
nice work hows the new ride going
I thought the same thing. In Galveston a few weeks ago, I was talking to a dude that got too drunk to ride his bike home so his buddies put him in a cab and took his keys. When they got up the next morning to leave, he went out and found out his buddies had taken the wrong black street glide. His key fit another bike. When they took the bike back to the parking lot, his bike had a note on it saying something like "if you took my bike by mistake, please call...". We saw the note, it was hilarious.
However, the black SG is a great platform to start with. Have fun!
Odd, I have had a Softail Standard for years. I live in Wisconsin & have ridden it to Sturgis twice, Minnesota all the time, & 1 trip to North Carolina then Tennessee & back up. My friend has an Electra Glide that went on all these trips with me. After all the miles he didn't feel any better then I did.
I have a Paul *** bare bones seat from when I'm riding around Wisconsin & a Mustang seat when I am putting on miles. I have never ridden a touring bike, but I also don't have any problems taking mine on long hauls.
Wow! What a nice bike let go and so soon too. I went the opposite way. I owned 2 tourers (09 road king classic and a 11 ultra limited) both were extremely nice bikes for touring; however, I traded them in on my softail and if decided to get another bike it will be another softail (fatboy). The softails are beautiful bikes and makes you feel connected to the road and a properly tuned b engine is smooth as glass all the way up to the triple digits. I put a lot of miles on tourers so I know they are some of the best motorcycles you can get so I am sure you will enjoy your street glide. Good luck and don't forget to stop in every now and again
