Default Handlebar question

Since last year, I have been searching for "just the right" handlebars for my heritage softail, 05. Most dealers have a very limited selection to viewso I tried to order a set which I thought would work, based on measurements of my current bars compared to something new. Well, that didn't work. So, I thought the next best thing to do was sit on some bikes that have the bars I like and try them. The bars I really like are stock for a wide glide. I think they are called mini apes and they are bigger in diameter than my bars. I really like the way they feel and look. I hate heritage bars they way the ends seem to point up. Anyway, has anyone tried this combination? If you have, did you have to change cables or wiring? Thanks!

The mini-apes on the new Softail Custom should work. I just put some on my wife's Duluxe. The 1-1/4 bars look good, but there is a downside, you will have to change out the handlebar risers as well $$. Also, your grip selection is a little more limited. Heated grips are hard to find (if you live where it's cold). Just some thoughts.

Look at wild1inc.com the site for Chubby's bars. Check out their customers pics. Call them and a rep may have some good suggestions

I just installed Chubby wild 1 pull back drag bars on my 05 standard and I love them ...best mod I have done so far ....looks, comfort , fit, easy install, and internal wireing pre-drilledand if you need help as I did their techs are more than willing to talk you thru any problem you have like they did for me ....great guys and great bars
I highly recomend Chubbys ...you can get them a little cheaper thru cycle world or others but why not go thru the people that make themfor a few dollars more ...that way you get the tech help and the best service
just my 2 cents worth
not to mention that they have a very good selection of bars and I bet they have just what you are lookin for

I also put Wild1 Chubby bars on my Heritage, part #10106. Had braided cables put on too, and ran wiring through the bars. Cost something like $450 for the parts and $550 labor. Not cheap, but then what is on a Harley?
