Question Cam Help

I am considering installing the S&S 106" big bore kit, complete with their Super Stock heads, on my 2008 Heritage. Have already put on V&H true duals, SE Heavy Breather, and PC III. I am not a speed demon, so I am looking for suggestions on which S&S cams to use? I also want it to have a nice 'lumpy' low idle... I know there is a gazillion brands out there, but want to stick to S&S.

Other than just telling us all what Ur doing..

Why don't U talk to Ur builder or one of the Pro builders and see what they'd say...

It'd/I'd put 100 times more faith in what they'd say,, rather than ask most in here that don't have any idea of WTF Cam to use in Ur build..

In a BB motor with Headwork and high compression U have to have all componentes to go together,, not just what worked in someone's else's build...

Save all Ur talk for later after the build..

..

Since you are going all S&S your best bet would be to take OCT1949's advice and talk to a pro. I'm sure that if you called S&S and talked to them about what you want to get out of this build they would probably have all the answers you need. On a side note for not being a speed demon you are going to have one hell of a fast bike when you are done!

Thanks for your feedback Uncle Chester, I have a call into S & S, just waiting for a reply. But in the mean time, I thought I would throw this out to the forum just to see what responses I get. ( only got 3 as of today ) Hmmm..

oct1949, It's not that I was going to follow someone else's build, just wanted feedback on comparable setups, you know, just "chewin' the fat" on a forum...but based on the responses I got, there ain't much interest,
of course I am going with the advice of my pro-builder and S&S.

Thing is I did a survey thread back 3-4 yrs ago on who does what to their bikes, as far a motors.

Seems like the answers was something like

30% don't mess with them, leave everything stock.
50% do only Stg 1.
12% do Stg1 and cams.
8% do Stg1, cams, and BB kits.

So not all that many do cams and very few do more than that.

That's why U wont get very many answers about what to use with a build like Ur doing.

Mostly U'll get I know a buddy that has a friend that put in a Whatever cam and his bike flys..

And like I said above its better to talk to several builders who has and knows what makes a good build that's street worthy and will last.
