I know I do. Though I enjoy a clean bike, when the weather dictates extra gear for the wife and myself, all bets are off. So come thanksgiving I make the full time crossover to touring mode. Windshield, and trunk go on, all the heated gear finds a permanent place in the bags and the otherwise clean looks of the Fat Boy go the way of the Road King (not that I don't like R/K's, cause I do).
I just wondered how many other forum members transform their Softails to keep on riding. And for all you So. Cal. and Tampa FL riders, nuts to you. Stick your windbreakers in your pockets and enjoy. Some of us year rounders NEED the gear. After all, Virginia MAY be considered the South, but parts of Virginia are farther north than Illinois and farther west than Detroit, so cold weather and whining wives are a real issue for us, lol. So who else makes the switch?

I have and ultra and do the opposite. I strip mine down for summer. Short windshield, take off the lowers. It gets damn hot in Florida. It's really nice riding weather now. I already dressed it up for winter.
Im with ya, Northern Va and all my heated gear is out and in operation for a few weeks now, mornings for sure, afternoons not so much... Windshield installed, heated grips on, SAC bag for the gear... all part of the dream baby
I did wear my leather vest today but it wasn't cold enough for gloves or long sleeves. 71 today, but last night at 50 I wore my jacket and gloves. Should be back to 80 the middle of next week. Phew.
