He there everyone. New to the site, this is my first post. Looking forward to all the info I can get here.

I finally moved up from my Customized Vulcan 800 Classic to a Black Denim 2012 Fat Boy Lo which you probably already no has minimal Chrome. (YAY) Of course she's going through the personal mods and (as much as I dislike the bullet hole disc's) the wheels will be last. More like next summer but I'm looking for feedback / advice now.

I have never been a fan of fat front tires (replaced the front 16" on the Vulcan with a 21" and on my wife's Vulcan with a 19")

So I plan to put a 19" on the front and hopefully replace the rear with the slightly narrower 180 instead of the 200. Ideally I'd like to put the wheels from a Switch back on the bike. I like the picture in my head. lol And I have had it with cleaning spokes.

Has anyone else done this? If so, what do I face regarding spacers in the rear? Tire clearance to the front fender with a 19" I don't see being a problem.

Any comments / advice would be appreciated.

A 17" wheel will revolve 804 times in a mile at 50mph so it don't matter if it's solid or spoked at those revolutions they are both gonna be solid ..... urban myth about solid wheels ...... had a 07 Fatboy since new and every now and then give it some windy or not ..... and i don't shake, rattle,or roll all over the place

Not a FatBoy, but a Heritage,, Just me but I don't care for the Solid Wheel Look and I like the Spokes..

Draw Back,, yes,, spokes need adjusted every so often.. and almost all of them need Tubes. An Extra cost at tire changing time..

But I really like the look of those Heavy/Big spokes wheels.

Mag or tubeless wheels have an advantage and a few of them I like...
Still I'd be hard pressed when or if I ever change to one of them.

Here IMO is one BAD *** looking wheel.
BLACK MAMMOTH FAT 52 SPOKE WHEEL 16x3.5 FOR 2008+ HARLEY SOFTAIL DELUXE HERITAGE

I'd be hard to not go in this Direction when/if I change out the wheels.

Agreed. I rode nothing but spokes for more years than I care to admit. Put a set of Fatboy wheels on my bike a couple years ago and it's every bit as stable as it was before I changed them.

I put a Fatboy REAR wheel on my Heritage at the first tire change, I like not having to worry with spokes and a tube on the rear, and I like the way it makes the bike handle as well. And the option of running a fatter rear tire is nice....

I have just changed mine to Renegade Rocklins, and strange, as mentioned above, I have a slight wobble at about 60kph, but nothing at 120.

SkullTrainHarley, thanks for that info. Still, Fat or skinny spokes, I'm just not into the detailing time anymore. Additionally, I like the tubeless factor.

AusMongrel,VERY Nice! But I will be going as black as possible.
