Hi all,
I have just rebuilt my CV carb with complete kit, I did not change the low and main jets, they seem to be okay, 45 and 180...
My problem, when cold, the bike idles very slow, my guess, about 700rpm and after a couple of kilos, say 20, it is idling very high, guess 2300+ It also feels if runs a lot hotter than normal.
Throttle cables "looks "lose at the carb, not completely tight as if there could be play?
The bike seems to be still stock, except for bigger pipes, baffles still intact and unmolested.
Any thoughts and /or ideas would be appreciated.
Check to make sure your enrichener cable is not binding, leaving it in high idle mode.
Then next, after your engine is fully warm, adjust the idle speed screw on the carb to 1000rpm.
It will idle lower until it is warmed up (cars would too if they didn't electronically raise the idle, like our enrichener). This is what the enrichener is for, cold starts.
Yup, enrichener. Any chance you banged around on the intake? A leak there could be a problem too (shoot carb cleaner around in while running to see if the RPMs increase...).
