I have just had to change a bulb in one of the frontlights on my softail. It seems that the only way you can get to the bulb once you have taken out the cowling is to cut of the rubber seal over the rear of the bulb fitting. Do HD supply the rubber seals to replace this or is it a way for them to make money of you by having to take it to them for a simple bulb change?
regards
AJ
Are you referring to the main headlamp? It looks like you have a few lights in the front. The one on my wife's Sporty slipped off and back on again easily. I bought a new bulb for my bike as well, but haven't put it in yet. I guess I'll be doing that tonight!

I had to replace mine this year on my 2006 got the bulb from Harley before taking out the bad one. Thay are simply a common bulb you can get at any parts store for 1.00 or 2.00 harley charged me over 5.00 I was pissed when I seen the bulb so I showed them I saved the fancy Harley box it came in. Mine came off easy the rubber stayed on the housing does that mean I'm not water tight now. That's Nice to know. Tom
If the knife edge does not work, try a little heat from a heat gun to soften up the silicone and then slide the boot off. I then put a little silcone back on at re-assembly to keep condensation out.
