Progressive has a "Drop-In"kit and it seems like the toughest part of the job is removing the handlebars and loosening the upper pinch bolts. On their video two guys with a 2x4 is not needed.

Hey Rod, how's it going?

So you used the standard Progressive spring kit # 11-1131 for your bike? What fork oil did you use? How does it feel vs. the stock front springs so far? I'm basically looking to get rid of the front end dive under braking and the harsh front jolting going over decent sized bumps. Mine seems to be getting worse as I get more miles on it, so it's time to improve the suspension. I'm also going to go with Progressive 422's in the rear to try to improve overall stability in corners and a better ride.

Can you list the steps you took to change the front springs and anything (besides taking a cap in the face) to watch out for? Thanks.

Hey Bob, I used the exact setup that you are thinking of for a while with HD SE heavy fork oil and it worked great. The drop in kit isn't as easy on the Softail as it is on the DYna from the video. It's not hard though.

I used the drop in kit with regular oil. Had the dealer install it while in storage last year. It was lowered roughly 1.5" and I didn't see much difference in ride.
