Ignition keys standard ?
When I bought my bike it came with 2 keys but there is a lock at the front to lock the handlebars, my keys "only" fit the ignition. So how much does it cost to get this changed or get a key for the steering lock...is it worth it?
I very seldom have used my key and obviously a previous owner lost or broke the previous key to the ignition/steering but it seems it might have value to be able to lock the steering.

I've seen people pushing bikes with the alarm going off and no one really bothered to question what was up. (Ok, I did, but still...) At least if the frontend is trned they are only going to push it in circles!
+1 -- I recently bought a used '07 FLSTN from a local dealer. It came with only one key and fob, and the salesguy suggested that I really should immediately get a spare fob and key. I did get the fob ($40) but knew better than to pay $12 per key ($24 since they come only in pairs). Later went to a local locksmith and got spares made for $5 each. Of course, they don't have the neat black cover or the bar/shield, but...
Just went to Baltimore Harley today and ordered two keys, $21.00, I am sure I could have saved 10 or 12 bucks but was not worth the hassel. Pick them up in a week to 10 days. Not a big deal because it is a spare. I did have to show my registration and drivers license. Took about 5 minutes.
I "misplaced" (alright, I'm an idiot and put one somewhere where it will never get lost, but can't remember where that is...lol) one of my keys, so I just ordered a set. They come as a set of 2 and cost $22.00 bucks. The keys include a little tag on the ring with an important key number...don't lose it...I had my original and it makes it very easy to get the right replacement/no hassles. That does not include a key fob if you have security, which costs $39.00 bucks each and must be synched up with the bike at the dealer, only takes a couple minutes. If you have a fob now and are adding one, bring your current one because it needs to be synched up with the new fob also...per the hd man. For 22 bucks, it's worth having a couple spares, besides I had to give a set to my son, so if something happens to me he can scoff the bikes and take them to his place (in the will...). Defensive move, my wife says anything happens to me, she's selling them immediately...surprise...NOT HAPPENING!!!! Plan B prepared for implementation...LOL
Ps Don't forget to change the battery in your security fob every couple years...I almost got stuck for the second time, would not start, setting off sec. sys, I'm thinking "What the heck" or something similar...changed battery, less than 5 bucks, like new both times...

My '04 bought used only came with one key and the key FOB. I'm guessing it's because most people stuff the second spare key in a drawer somewhere and totally forget to dig it out when they sell a vehicle.
LOL! No, it's because the dealer tossed the spare key and FOB so the next buyer could be encouraged to purchase same.
