I hope someone has a better answer for you, but mine did the same thing and I had to replace the ignition.

I was talking to the previous owner of my 2009 Ultra Classic. He and his wife rented a bike while traveling once and after a night at a motel... someone had tried to unlock the ignition switch and managed to get the lock turned half way. He couldn't get the key inserted to lock/unlock the switch. He called a locksmith. As I understand the locksmith made a copy of his original key then filed the locating tab from the outside of the key. He then inserted it into the keyhole and presto-change-o! He was back in business.

I've had a locksmith make copies of round keys before... they're not expensive. You could probably have one made and file the locating tab off yourself... it might save a few bucks instead of having the locksmith come to you.
