I switched from V&H Sideshots to V&H Duals on my 02 Fatboy. Installation was straightforward. No modifications required. The V&H pipes fit perfectly and the finish quality is excellent. Running them with Big City Thunder baffles. Great Sound.
To accommodate the duals, I changed the settings on my Fuel Pack to the appropriate settings listed on the V&H web site. Lost some bottom end power. V&H's Tech support made setting recommendations which cured the problem.
I'm just in the process of changing my V & H to Samsons.
I have had no issues with the V & H at all, but here's my reasons for changing:-
A) The Samsons are available in a variety of lengths - I've gone with 36". B) I like the shape of the Samson fishtails better, somehow the V & H seems 'stunted'.
C) As said previously, the back cylinder pipe seems to have a more natural bend around the primary on the Samsons.
i had to take a pair of V&H duals off of my father's friend's motorcycle as the exhaust was too close to his left leg. he's not a tall guy, but even when i was pulling it in the garage, i thought to myself "this would get old quick."
newer models i guess are swept under the frame instead of around the primary
I've never had any issues with my V&H true duals. On my 08 the rear cylinder goes around the primary & heat has never been an issue. On my 11 Limited, I did however feel the heat on my right leg from the CAT....Lots of choices out there for sure.
I dont have either but I have many times found myself wanting some of these V&H...nice set if you aren't into the fishtails. I did have a set of V&H Big Radius and the sound was incredible, great quality product.
Hello i´m from Brasil and just added a V&H dual pipe on my Fat Lo.
I noticed the bike pulling to the left after that. Does anyone had the same issue when change pipes on softail to duals? Guess it´s cause the bike was "balanced" for the piper on the right side.
Thanks for helping me up.
Shoot, good luck! I just started another thread on Samson pipes. Samson just told my INDY that they do not make what I want for my bike. I have a 2006 Deluxe, EFI and Samson told my INDY they do NOT make any True Dual pipe, cholos, for my bike longer than the 28 1/2 inch!!! I can't believe this crap! I can't believe thats true but what the hell! That came straight from Samson, over the phone to my INDY while I was standing there as they talked. It's always something, ALWAYS!!!
