Crossbones in the shop!
Well, it warmed up enough yesterday for me to ride the Crossbones up to the dealership I work at. The service manager is allowing me to keep it on a lift upstairs in our storage room. Yesterday I pulled off the stock rear fender. I didn't bring any tools cause I hadn't planned on working on it. I didn't want to borrow tools from the techs, because that is how they make their living. There happened to be a set of Torx sockets and a ratchet sitting up there. Once I get the rear fender mocked up, the tank and fenders are getting srayed with a black basecoat, an intermediate clear with a little crushed glass, and finally a matte clear. I will eventually stripe it myself, just want to come up with the perfect design and be 100% on the colors. I am leaning toward red and grey or red and a white (think of a dirty whitewall tire) I redid the stock pinstriping in red and grey before and I like it a lot. I will get the front fender painted, but don't plan to run it. My paint guy is going to prep and spray the shadetree rear fender and smooth the weld in the middle of the tank
