Default Samson pipes

Hi,

am new to this forum , been an avid reader lurking in the background over the years and am seriously looking to change my bike finally after 17 yrs Lol! This site is a great source for inspiration.

I have read about all the dual exhaust systems and have settled on the Samson exhausts from all the research.

There is just a few things which im not sure about.
1.What is the difference between a Samson True Dual Crossover System vs the tru dual headers with muffler pipes?
2. What are Cholos?

My ride is a 95 Heritage Softail Special Nostalgia FLSTN (Carby bike). I've had the stock pipes on with screaming eagle mufflers for 16 yrs then last year replaced them with cycle shacks shotgun muffler pipes which i have been extremely happy with. The motor is basically stock , only other thing i replaced was the stock ignitinon module to a screaming eagle one.

After months of looking at all the pics on here of the awsome looking bikes (particularly the Deluxes with these true duals ) ive got the bug.

I have decided to settle on 33" size length, just past the fender, which to mee would suit me the best.

Cheers Nick.

Good on you for doing a lot of research. I went with Vance and Hines slip ons with quiet baffles and am happy with them. But I saw these later http://www.samsonusa.com/S2-911.htmland thought, damn, maybe I should have saved up for some Samsons.

I don't know much about the brand, but I'll be interested to hear others chime in.

As you can see from my picture, I'm partial to Samsons too. You can't go wrong.

+1 for Samsons.

Top quality pipes. Superior chroming. Sound phenominal. Selection of different exhaust systems is unrivaled. If you can't find something you like from Samson then you don't know what you want.

If I am wrong, someone can chime in and correct me. The term Cholos is Samson's name for 39" or longer pipes. Hence, Redder's description "super f-ing long badazz spark draggin fishey pipes".

Super Cholo's have 42" mufflers which is what you see here. Cholo's are 39". Then there are 36", 33", and 28.5".

Cholo is somewhat slang for gangster so in terms of the samson cholo exhausts it would mean "gangster style" The 36's are also called mini cholos for those who dont have the cajones to roll grande

I think true dual crossover is the pipes that the rear pipe turns and goes out the left side of the bike, true duals with mufflers would be all on the right side, and true dual cross under would be for the touring models where the exhaust crosses under the frame.

Correct me if I'm wrong though
