Default Pop back

Good morning all,
I purchased a 2003 Heritage a couple months back. The previous owner installed Vance and Hines Long shots. I believe that's the extent of the mods. I looked and it has a stock Harley aire filter.

Occasionally I get a pop back through the carburetor. Happens cold and warm. I looked at the spark plug and it's whiter than tan but not completely white.

I have some blueing on the pipes at a connection below the passenger floorboard.

I'm thinking I'm running lean.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
cajones

Yep, You are running lean. Time to rejet that carb, and if that's the case, might as well as the SE air cleaner and do it right the first time.

Sounds like the previous owner did about 1/2 of a Stage 1. You should get the other parts, air cleaner and rejetting the carb, done. It will solve that lean issue and get you some more power.

+1.
Had the similar issue on our '06 Sporty after I did the pipes and the air cleaner mods. Also, the bike comes from the MOCO in a lean condition to meet EPA standards so re-jetting to a richer condition will help in eliminating the carb farts.
