Tony: I'd guess $5,400.00

Here's a question; what are you planning? That's a LOT of cash!! Congrats, enjoy the mods!!

My plans are a few more pieces already came off and sent out for chrome, 39" Samson true duals just not sure if I want baffled, straights or removable baffles. I am also toying with the idea of cutting the Fishtail tips of the pipes too. I am also going to look into seeing if I can get the inside of the pipes ceramic coated before I put them on too. 16", possibly 14", 1.5 " Carlinis, not sure if I am going with the Gangsters or the Flying apes and I want risers as low and close to the tree's as I can possibly get them. Internal wiring and white hand grips to go with my paint scheme, have the seat removed and about an inch taken off of the top of it for a lower profile and a gel insert put in where my tailbone rides and then redone in black and white to also go with the paint scheme on my bike. I have also the past few days been toying with the idea of some 50 fat cat spoked wheels but those might be on my next winters mod list when I get the rear fender stretched 4 inch's and the bike painted but we shall see. I want to stay with the 16 inch wheels and would love some type of custom wheel but there just are not as many options for the 16 inch wheels like there are for the 18" and on up. I like Harleys new "vapor" wheels but as usual they only come in 18". These mods, of course, are always subject to change because as we all know, anything can happen tomorrow that can change everything and not just the mods on the bike. I guess thats just life! Thanks for the reply Red.....

Tony I think my take home was around what Branner said, it all depends on what your deductibles and stuff is though. To base line it you'll get stuck in the highest tax bracket right off the rip and that you can figure on 40% off the top. It sucks but you'll get it back at the end of the year.

I think samson makes pipes with no fishtails, just straight shot true duals. If I had to buy again I'd get the 39" with removable baffles and tips, that way I can decide crazy loud or a little quieter. Not that the baffled 33"s aren't loud cause they are very loud.

I don't want to drop a grand on pipes that I am not going to be happy with and have them hanging on a nail in the garage because I can't take the heat from the pipe on the left side. All you guys with the TD's chime in please and thanks in advance for your time to reply.
You make a pretty fair wage there hoss, I guess thats why so many jobs go overseas. Are you a professional?

zworld, I wrote a rather lengthy reply in regards to your comment on how and why it is "my fault" as to why so many jobs are going to China. I decided not to try to rewrite it because people like you just don't understand the REAL reason why jobs are going to China and there is nothing I could say or do to get people like you to really understand it, no matter what I said. Trust me, this company gets it's "pound of flesh" for what i earn. I have not had a Christmas or New years off with my kids in 20 years and I raised them alone. I have had 2 Thanksgivings off in the past 24 years. The hours I work has a phenomenal rate of divorces, failed relationships, poor health, drug and Alcohol abuse and even suicide. What this company makes in a week in profits pays all 300 of us at this facility's wages easily. We have plants all over the globe and just this one site here where I work made 500 million in PROFITS alone, yes, one half of a billion dollars!!! Not many can work these hours and thats why i earn what I earn. I also earn what I earn for them to keep the union out of this plant too. it is MUCH cheaper and easier for them to pay me what they do then to have to deal with a Union and possible strikes. It's sad that people such as yourself really don't understand why these companies goes to China and elsewhere around the globe. I pay a heavy price for this company and they know it as well. I was close to 500 hours of overtime in 2012, thats damn near living out here. What I earn is but a mere drop in the bucket to them. They know that "Joe Blow" off of the streets can't do this job and these hours so the only way to attract and keep a high caliber of person that can do this job is to pay us what they do. You may find comfort in knowing though that even the jobs like I have are going away too. They are not going to china though, they are going to stay here. The reason? because they know unions no longer wield any power, the new hires no longer are offered or have a pension or medical benefits when they retire and they will be topping out at at least 10 bucks an hour then what I now earn. The thing is? People will still claw to have this job I now have minus all those benefits and security and these companies know it. And do you know why? Because of people like you who feel and think like you do. These companies have made the American public believe that all this overseas **** is our fault, hook, line and sinker. yes, it's a sad day when all Americans feel and think like you do. The sad part about that is? Our children, your children will be working for 10 bucks an hour and we will become our OWN China right here in the states. I say none of this in anger, rather with only great sadness. Kids will be spending 100k for an education to earn 12 or 13 bucks an hour, with no benefits. 20 years from now my job will be a thing you can only read and learn about in history books.

I think we all work pretty hard to finance the best hobby in the world! Whenever I'm on a guilt trip for what I've shovelled at the bike, I just compare to what some guys spend on golf etc. Horses for courses, whatever floats your boat! Whenever you stop for a coffee, what's the first question the non-bikers ask? Betcha its "How much have you got in that?"

Wow you are pretty harsh to bash someones lifestyle because it is not like yours. I am a third generation union IBEW electrician. I have 10 years of school plus unlimited journeyman training with about 24 years total this pretty much makes me qualified for my job also. I work for a company that does very well and I give them a good days work for a good days pay on some pretty crappy nightshift hours with 7 and 8 day work weeks. I don't no your personal bad feelings towards unions But it has made a great life for my family since the early 1940s. You say that all new hires have nothing and the future generations will be working for nothing could it be be that it is from the greed of people that work 500 o/t hours and don't split the work load with another man to provide for his families need. Our new hires do a five year apprenticeship and make the same rate as me and the same benefits. Not 10 to 13 dollars per hour. I guess I just don't understand what you are saying about unions try looking in a mirror and see who is knocking down the next generation or the other guy that can do your job. We are all replaceable not said in anger just the way I see it. Maybe we are both wrong.

Maybe it's as simple as his shop doesn't have many that want to work overtime.
That's how it was in my department while both union and then non-union.

Thankfully now that I'm older, (worked here for 33+ years) overtime is a rare thing that none of us want much of any more.

Neil Smith, you either didn't pay attention to what I was saying or I didn't make myself clear. What I said in my reply was that, that it IS because of Unions that I make what I make. If it were NOT for the Unions I would be making a 3rd of what I now make and have little or no benefits. The reason I make what I make is because my Company does NOT want a Union in our plant so they pay us union wages. My father was a teamster for nearly 50 years. My dad was one of the guys out busting heads way back in the day when unions were starting up and taking off to gain strength for ALL of us, union or not, he was kicking *** and taking names to fight FOR the union. I have 5 brothers, 1 worked his whole life for GM, 1 has worked his entire working time in heating and air then for Chrysler, 1 Brother for heavy equipment operator and then Chrysler too. You had me pegged totally wrong. In the unit where I work there was 5 of us per shift when I hired in there 24 years ago, now there are 2 people per shift and we are still doing everything we did with 5. That is why I have 500 hours of overtime, not because I want it. BUT, since it is there am I supposed to NOT work the overtime? I have ZERO say about anything my company does and that is why I DO support unions. I knock NO ONE about what they do or how they work. The point I was making was zworld said it was my fault, your fault because of what we make that drives companies to move to China and other places around the globe. When I hear people talk like zworld or make those kinds of comments that there are still people who don't get it, don't see it. I also said when the unions are no more, totally gone and powerless that we will all be working for 10 bucks an hour. Our kids will have little or no future, no hope for a good paying jobs with benefits. Make NO mistake about it. I know why I make and earn what I earn. It is because OF the union and no other reason. My facility would be in China too but the reason they are not is because were we are we get gas, ethan and propane for 8 cents a pound. We turn that gas into plastic and sell it for 58 cents a pound. When that gas dries up they will throw a chain and on the gate and shut it down, then move to China. It is sad there are still people who don't know why this country is in the shape it's in and that they blame people like me, like you and the unions for all of this country's troubles. Until they open their eyes and understand the truth things will only continue to get worse and our kids have no hope, no future. I do not feel bad about what I earn, I work my *** off and put in a ton of time to get what I get. I have sacrificed much to work where I work and how I work. I raised my kids with post-it-notes and watched them grow up with pictures of them on my locker door. Because of the hours I work my body has no schedule. I don't eat, **** or screw like a "normal person" because my system is so screwed up from these hours. I gave my pound of flesh for what they in turn pay me. I also get what I get BECAUSE of the unions, no other reason. I know it, my company knows, nothing more, nothing less.

I must have taken it in the wrong way I appoligize for that. Sometimes maybe I jump to quick but it is only because Daily I get to here about us no good lazy Union assh##### overpaid under worked garbage. While someone else is working for nothing and doing garbage work trying to take from my family. I definately did not get that you where making your rate because of the union. But I am glad for you to have maintained your rate hold tight many sacrificed to get it there.

My apologies for not getting that from what you wrote.
