Recently drop my bike and damaged the slider cover on the left side of fork. My local dealer wants about 250.00 to replace slider cover. Slider cover (79.95) and 2 hours for labor. Aside from removing the front tire and front fender it doesn't seem like it's a two hour job. Looking at the service manual it didn't seem as if there is very many parts that are going to have to come off to remove the slider My question is, will I lose any oil when removing the slider? And can replacing the slider cover be as easy as it seem from looking at the service manual? Please help or give any advice on repairs you may have. Thanks.

Reason: Misspelled words
The covers are just held on by a couple of small screws. I imagine the labor of getting the forks off so they can slide the covers out is what they are charging for.
I would just remove the fork tubes, then take off the covers and replace. You should not loose any oil at all because you will not be going into the forks.
