Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. My pleasure to do what I do.
A bit about the bike. I'm still learning what all of this is so I'm repeating a lot of what the dealership and my buddies told me as they pointed things out.
It's an 07. Sidekick seat, rigid back, race tuner, big radius exhaust, have no idea what grips but definitely not stock, 12.5" apes, diamondback cables. Front and rear rims, I'm not sure what kind they are but I really like the look of them.
I kind of feel bad because from what I can tell and what my buddies who I had look at the bike said, someone else put a lot of love into this. I'd be sad to let something like that go, though they tell me he traded the bike in for something bigger.
My shopping list is already getting up there in the $ department, though I'm learning that's pretty normal.
As far as price, I'm not sure if I overpaid or got a steal, but it feels ok to me. It was the nicest one I looked at in 6 dealerships and about the same price as others that were a bit older and higher miles, and I'm now a firm believer in what several people told me, that I'd know "the one" when I sat on it and took it for a ride. Not sure if it'd be bad taste to post publicly what I paid out the door.
Nice Bike! You're going to find yourself smiling everywhere you go, whether you're riding it or not. Just knowing that you have the keys is one of the best feelings in the world!
Thanks for your service and here's to open roads ahead.
When you get a chance post that beauty in your signature.
Congrats on the new bike, I got my first Harley last Feb. and know the great feeling...kind of apprehensive and excited and looking forward to new adventures and places to see from a different perspective...from two wheels!
Indeed! I'll admit I've been riding for a few years... on a 2001 CBR 600 F4i. Wife won't get on it with me because the thing scares her. She and I have talked about a cruiser style ride for a while and I called her about a two weeks ago teasing I bought a Harley (friends at work have been ribbing me hard to get a Harley so I can ride with them). She was rather excited and then a bit disappointed when I told her I was kidding. She was really excited when she saw pictures and a video I took of this one. Now it looks like the ride up to Niagara Falls from here in northern NJ that we've talked about one day will happen this summer.
Nice bike man! My first Harley was a Sportster that I had for about a year, then upgraded to the Night Train. Looks like you did it right the first time!
