Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. My pleasure to do what I do.
A bit about the bike. I'm still learning what all of this is so I'm repeating a lot of what the dealership and my buddies told me as they pointed things out.
It's an 07. Sidekick seat, rigid back, race tuner, big radius exhaust, have no idea what grips but definitely not stock, 12.5" apes, diamondback cables. Front and rear rims, I'm not sure what kind they are but I really like the look of them.
I kind of feel bad because from what I can tell and what my buddies who I had look at the bike said, someone else put a lot of love into this. I'd be sad to let something like that go, though they tell me he traded the bike in for something bigger.
My shopping list is already getting up there in the $ department, though I'm learning that's pretty normal.
As far as price, I'm not sure if I overpaid or got a steal, but it feels ok to me. It was the nicest one I looked at in 6 dealerships and about the same price as others that were a bit older and higher miles, and I'm now a firm believer in what several people told me, that I'd know "the one" when I sat on it and took it for a ride. Not sure if it'd be bad taste to post publicly what I paid out the door.
Having been in the automotive industry for almost 30 years, you said it just right. "Not sure if I overpaid or got a steal, but it feels ok to me." Then that's where you leave it. If you ever think about second guessing the price you paid, DON'T..... If your happy now, stay that way. I've seen so many folks shop AFTER they purchased, and all of a sudden they weren't happy. Not tryin to be a downer, just something I feel strongly about, that's a sweet ride and I hope you and yours enjoy it for a long time!!
I always TRY to welcome new members/Harley owners. People did it to me so of course I try to pass it on. But I'm sorry to say this isn't a good looking bike. IT'S A F***ING MAGNIFICANT BIKE! I don't know what it is about it, but as soon as I saw it I knew exactly why you feel so happy. Congrats, stay safe. You've got one hell of a machine!

Couldn't agree more. Since getting my bike I've completely avoided looking at dealer second hands and websites because I just know I'll find something and start having regrets. You and I got great deals and great bikes and that's all that matters
Thank you so much for your service!
Seems like when ever you go to an HD dealer for a new bike - there are NO bad choices - just the right one for you!
