Default factory cruise on a softail?

why is that the cvo softail comes with cruise from the factory but not available on the regular softail line? even the cvo breakout comes standard with cruise. how hare would it be to retrofit the cvo cruise to a non cvo softail?

Cruise would be SO sweet on my 2012 FLSTC.

I does seem that it would be nice but think about this. Some of the guys I ride with have it (mostly on Road Kings and Ultras). If you're in a group and want to use cruise you have to be the lead bike. If you're riding alone it would be fine. So, most of them don't really turn it on very much. I tend to get along just fine with the tension adjustment on long rides. I do think HD should make it an option though.

Obviously the larger bikes have more room for the electronics involved, but I also would love cruise control on my Softail. Too many hills around here for the tension adjustment to do very much good.

They want you to buy a CVO. They might think if they let you specify all the goodies separately they might not sell their top models.

It might have something to do with it being more expensive to do. The cvo softails also have fly by wire throttle.

I would love cruise just so on boring interstates I could give my right hand a rest or shake out numbness. I know there are all kinds of throttle locks for that too.
