While some others have just done a tire change.. With this one, seems I remember several other reporting that the tire is very close to the belt. Some tried it and it rubs occasionally.
Each tire maker tires in even the same size tire can and usually are different actual sizes.
U'll need to do some home work and some Google searches should net U the info U need.
i have a 2000 Deuce. Last winter I installed a michelin 180 with no modifcations. it fits fine. the belt has about 3/16" clearance from the guard. it has never rubbed. i was going to use a Dremil tool to grind a little off the guard it I had an issue. HD dealer said i'd need a wide tire kit. It is not needed.
