I'm English, living in France and riding an American bike.
My brother in law lives and works in China and we have relatives who are third generation Australian.

Please can anybody tell me where it's okay to buy my parts from?

p.s. My "French" 1989 Citroen 2CV was built in Portugal, can I still buy French parts for it?

Surely if the money you spend is helping the local economy where you live that's enough?

Plain and simple. The majority of Union workers feel that they are entitled to a job. Entitled to a raise and entitled to benefits. The majority of them would not know what to do if they received a raise or promotion based on work performance. Most of them actually believe that they can drag azz all day and not worry one single bit about having their azz ran off. I would as many have, outsource my products just so I wouldn't have to worry about Union workers threatening a strike for a raise or better benefits. Get rid of the Unions and you would see more companies coming back to the U.S.

You're not saying you believe every non-union employee actually earns his/her paycheck are you?

These threads kill me, they are always good for some laughs.
I understand what the O.P. was saying.but I had an experience with a small American manufacture where the quality was horible and the customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. Will this stop me from suporting the "small" guys? Hell no! I buy what I like for my bike and not all of it has been "made in the U.S.A.", but it has all come from American businesses. We live in a global society and the world has got a hell of a lot smaller in the last 40 years. I do like the idea of suporting local businesses but I'm not going to pass on something I like just because of it's orgin.

I know what you mean since I've dated numerous foreign women both in the states and overseas.

I also think encouraging buying American is great. I hate to see so many people making fun of that or finding a way to discourage it. The fact is, the guy who makes the crap we buy has a job. He can be a Chinese guy or an American guy. Our choice.
