I have a question I was hoping someone might help me with. I found a set of rims at the local dealer but the dealer says the rear will not work on my bike. I realize it says that in the parts catalog but wonder if its true. The front is no problem but who want a front with no matching rear LOL!
My bike is a 2011 Blackline which has a 16" rim on the back. The set I found includes a 17" rim out back but makes no reference to width. I figure if the rim width is the same (or very close) I could mount a lower profile tire and end up with basically the same ride height and keep travel the same to prevent bottoming the tire on the inside of the fender. Not looking to make it wider, just wondering if I can make it work without huge headaches.
The rim says it fits these models
Harley-DavidsonŽ
FLSTF, 2008-Later
FLSTFB, 2008-Later
FLSTSB, 2008-Later
FXST, 2008-Later
FXSTB, 2008-Later
FXSTC, 2008-Later
So, the big question, what width rim do these models use? Is it close to the same as my Blackline?
As always many thanks for any help
Your blackline is stil a 150-160 rear? the rest of those above are at the 200 rear i think. Why is the blackline still calling for the more narrow rear?
that's the main reason. I was just wondering what type of rear set up on the blackline. Must be a smaller fender causing it. I would assume the swing arm are set up the same.

The rims on those you listed are 200 tires I believe, that is the reason. There have been some that have put a 200 rear on a Black line though but you will have to change the rear fender because of the width. Do a search on the forum for "200 rear tire on Blackline" and you should find your answer.
Curious though, are they spoke wheels, mags or what? How much are they asking for them?
Thanks guys!
I knew the width of the tires but not the rims themselves. I was hoping the width of the rim itself was close to the Blackline and they just mounted a fatter tire for the other bikes.
The set of rims is HDs Magnum 5. I could have gotten both rims, tires, and installation for less than $1500.00 which is half of what I have been quoted for other aftermarket wheels. I know they're cast instead of forged, but still look better than the stock hoops and I like the idea of not having tubes.
Would req much more then a wheel/tire swap to equip a 6" wide wheel in place of your 3.5" wide wheel, it can be done, just requires new fender struts, fender, spacers and the inner frame struts to be relocated. So if you don't want to go that route just find a wheel meant for a 08+ heritage, deluxe, slim, xl ect
Thanks again guys!
Looks like I'm stuck with the factory hoops for another season since I can't find a reasonably priced cast wheel from HD that'll fit the Blackline.
As much as I'd love to call up Hogpro and have them put together a package for me, it just isn't financially possible at the moment.
i have fitted a 200 to my fxs.i kept the hub and got a softail custom spoked rim and powder coated it to match the old rim and got stainless spokes[6mm longer]and fitted it up and ended up with the same look, just 200 wide, and got it spoked up with a 7mm offset to clear the stock belt.so i didnt have to change the belt and pulley and fits fine with a dunlop 401 tyre so i can get 15000 ks not 10000ks you get out of a 407tyre.got a 200 stock fatboy lo splash guard which fitted straight on and cut guard and put a 60mm piece in to widen it and heated and bent the strutts.sunk number plate into rear guard and all looks **** hot and runs good
