Appreciate the reference. Thanks for the heads up on license plate size in the frame.

I was born and raised on LI so I am very familiar with NY cops. I'll bet your socked in with feet of snow in the Buffalo area right now. Brother went to SUNY Buffalo. I have friends in Cheektowaga and Eggertsville. I left NY after undergrad in '82, did a 4 year stint in Cleveland, Ohio and then flew down south. Been in Texas since. You can say LEOs down here are a bit more lenient than those in NY. One of the only things they frown on here is a shotgun rack on the back of the bike. I haven't seen 'Buford Pusser' here yet.

I love the area here (I'm in West Seneca) and I haven't been pulled over yet by a cop. I would have been nailed with 3 tickets if I did. 1 for the pipes, 1 for the covered number, and another for the light not shining on the plate if I got stopped at night. I ordered a custom plate and I am hoping to have it before this season starts. No snow here which is a good thing, at least nothing that is sticking. Salt is crazy on the roads though. They just keep piling it on. Spring will be here soon enough and another year of awesome riding is already being planned. I have nothing else to do but to plan.

If you see my bike at the dealership when you are there, ask Butch or Lowell to point out Doc who owns the black and white Heritage. I'd be happy to meet you, brother.

It'll be in the low 70's today. A great day to put some miles on your bike. Ride safe.
Will do.

A bit off topic, but where does all this salt come from? Somewhere on this planet is a very big hole!

they put salt on the roads to melt ice and snow away.. problem is, not all the salt dissipates as it melts the ice and such, so it gets kicked up on to paint and wheel wells by the tires..makes for a bit of nastiness.

Salt is a killer! I hate it and hate to see them piling it onto the roads especially around now. Just knowing that riding season is around the corner...
