Default Blackline tank badge

Hello all! im new to the forum but have been reading post since i got my Street Bob. Im about to get my Bob painted this month and i am looking at getting it painted like the Blackline with the orange tank. what im looking for is the tank badge that says "Harley - Davidson" Ive called Harley and they say they cant get it becouse its a factory installed decal. they recommended that i go to a sticker making place to get some made up. what i need now is the demensions...length and height ect... also could anyone help me out with some detailed pictures of both sides of the tank so i can get the placement correct. thank you all very much.

Mine looks like its painted on. If its a decal they did an excellent job of blending the edges.

It should be a decal, not paint. They are applied with water and done before the tank is cleared. And it's weird the dealer couldn't get you a replacment since you can order other decals from pervious models. However just go through your yellow pages and try to find a sign shop that deals with die cut decals. Usually you can give them a pic with your dimensions and they should be able to make you up a pair. And remember to make it look factory, harley always places their decals and pin stripping under the clear

If you get the decal made out of vinyl, it is going to be thicker than the one they use at the factory. It well take a lot more clear for it to be smooth. Talk to your painter and see if he can do it in paint. Someone good with an airbrush, or a decent pinstriper should be able to handle it

yeah i was thinking vinyle would be way to thick. i was thinking of maybe a stincle but i still need the demensions of the decal. i would like to get it as close as possible to the factory look.

Didn't have enough hands to hold a tape measure and the camera steady but hope this helps.
As I said, if its a sticker, they did an outstanding job of blending edges. There is no raised area whatsoever. In contrast, my Rocker C flames stuck out like a sore thumb and screamed cheap.

Measured it the best I could without a flexible cloth tape measure. Comes out to 10 1/2 inches total overall length.
Good luck with your project man!
