Default Fatboy Nacelle Question

I just finished installing the nacelle kit on my fatboy lo which I bought used on ebay. It came with the stock trim ring which fit perfectly. I picked up the frenched ring from custom chrome for Roadkings to match my driving lamp bezel. There is about a 1/4 in gap between the headlamp and the new visor. I adjusted the lamp screws as far out as I can but still have a gap. I checked the bucket assembly and there is no part number stamped on it. It should be 67728-02 according to my search. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks,

With Stock Trim ring

With New Ring (note the gap)

With trim removed

Just got done doing the same thing to my CVO Fatboy today. After 2 attempts and a couple beers I decided to read the instructions. Did exactly what they said. Still ended up with a 1/8" gap at the bottom. And it feels a little loose to me. So I drove down to the dealer and they said that's the way it is. They even showed me how the headlight rings on a couple of brand new touring models were kinda loose. Go figure. So I just went riding. The nacelle assembly on my FB looks awesome.

Did you put the new ring over the existing? Thats what the instructions state. You don't remove the original.
