Default Just installed the Fuel Moto Micro Tuner

My son and I just installed the Fuel Moto Micro EFI Tuner on my 2013 Fatboy. The pre-installed map seems spot-on and the bike pulls nice and hard and runs great! It had 108 miles on it before we started, cause I hated the stock pipes and wanted it to sound and run like a Harley .

It does now!

I put some V&H 3" slip-ons on a few days ago and added the Screamin' Eagle stage 1 air filter kit today as well. The install is pretty straight forward, although I was nervous about putting a scratch on something!

Here is on pic of the bike with the tank and seat off, and the finished product. Man I love this scooter!

Did you have to remove the tank to do the install? just curious as I am thinking of getting a tuner.

I did because the EFI connections were difficult for me to get to otherwise. You can look at your intake manifold to see the front and rear cylinder EFI connections and then decide how much room you think you will need. It also made getting to the TPS real easy which needed to be tapped into.

I will say taking the tank off made it much easier and I was able to route the cables down the right side of frame on the top tube if that makes sense.

Removing the tank was not real hard. I can post my steps (no manual yet.. it is on order), so my son and I googled info and went at it.

It's an easy install - and the bike runs great so far. I also liked the $199 price. I do not plan on any engine mods in the future, so I think this tuner is great for a stage 1 setup.

The bike has what I want now. I rode it for about an hour yesterday and it ran flawless. Definitely much better than stock. It also "seems" to be running cooler. In stock form it sure seemed to get hot really quick. I didn't feel near as much heat coming off of it now.

I wouldn't use it if I had plans for cams, bigger bore etc. since there isn't an option for altering the timing.

I put the same tuner on my Fatboy last week. I didn't remove the tank but I unbolted it. It was tough getting to the connectors but I managed. I wedged a towel under the tank to raise it but it doesn't move much. I was only able to run it around the block between snow storms but it does seem to run smoother and like you said cooler. It seemed to me like the engine was quieter too. I can't wait until nicer weather.

Nice work on not removing the tank

I was too nervous to try it that way. This is my 1st EFI bike and I was not very confident since I had no manual. I tried raising the tank and using a towel at first but I didn't think I would be able to get to everything. I wanted to make sure I routed and tied up everything so I would not have to do it again... Which is my normal process. My luck isn't the best at 1st time trying things...

I am thinking about getting one of these in the near future. Glad to hear they seem to be worth it. My other bike (2011 48) I had slip ons, a Screamin Eagle heavy breather and xieds. It ran fine but made me nervous. This one I want to do "right" from the get go. I just installed the VH short shots (go figure) and plan to do a fuel moto micro soon.

Also, just to add, I spent probably 30 mins on the internet chatbox thing with a fuel moto rep. They were very patient and helpful and pretty much walked me through everything about the different tuning options etc. with no real push for their product. Just the facts of each tuning method and their opinions on them from real world scenarios.
