Default '89 fxsts

Hey all, new member here.. was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any differences between a laced '89 springer front wheel and a '98? JP cycles shows a complete wheel that fits 88 thru 99, My manual (Clymer) shows different hubs from '95 and on, maybe just the spacers, i dont really know..
I have a lead on a wheel that I'm looking to "painlessly swap out" my banged up rusty front wheel...
_Thanks

The difference will be for the speedometer drive...the older bikes had the mechanical speedo driven off the front wheel...the newer bikes had the electric speedo

Trying to remember but my old weak mind says there is a small hole for the speedo tab to rest in. Some aftermarket rotors have a small notch for the sending unit tab to sit in.

Springer front end stayed the same, same axle, brakes, ect, only difference was that they flip the brake to the other side on the heritage springer models. So all the wheels are the same. Your speedo drive will switch over since it gets its input from the brake rotor. So to answer your question the wheel will work as long as you are using your old spacers and rotor

On springers, speedometer drive is on the opposite side of the wheel than the brake rotor
