Default Road king luggage box on a softail

Hi,

I've done a search for this with no luck. Does anyone know if a road king top luggage box will fit a softail, and if so are there any mods needed?

The box is off a 2000 road king, and my bike is a 2005 springer classic. I just thought it might be handy for touring.

as far as a bolt on part...not with out some mods. in particular, the rack the tourpac mounts to, and attaches to the fender struts. dont think H.D. makes one. maybe aftermarket? take a look at SILVERFOX posts. i think he has what what you might be looking to do....steve

Yes it'll fit fine but you need a specific luggage rack for the softail. They do a solo one and one to be used with a pillion. Not sure of part number I didn't keep my documentation .

Thanks, guys. The luggage box came up cheap so I was gonna go for it if it was an easy addition.

I made my own for my SG. I copied the detachable uprights from my sissy bar and make a plate to attach them together which made a flat top for the tourpak to mount. Came out mine after welding and powdercoat. Turns out Milwaukee bagger makes em now in a once piece without welds. Best oart on a bagger it mounts to the sissy bar mounts instead of mounting separate detach hardware. Same applies with a softail but I haven't seen any made for sale. Tourpaks r the ****. I love the extra room on long trips.

There is a company selling quick detach brackets for softails, to put tour packs on them, on ebay. The name is Power Products Parts. They also have a website under the same name. Their brackets are around $200. Hope this helps.

Even harley sells a quick detach tour PAC mount for softails. It'll set you back around $350
