I'm no help on chopping a rear fender, but I chopped my front fender. I used a similar method that Kowan suggested. Folded contrustion paper in half cut out shape while folded so both side would be the same. centered fold on fender and traced shape with pencil onto fender. Masked off good side of fender with painters tape. Set fender back on before cutting to make sure I liked it. Cut fender with jigsaw and then finished off cuts with angle grinder.
Very happy with the way mine turned out. Hope this helps you out.
Shadree Fabrications will make you a custom rear bobber fender w/ a custom leather seat, and battery box cover for under $1500 $ they'll ship it directly to you.
Here's a bike they did.
And another...
I almost used them for my Blackline before I sold it. FYI, I am not affiliated with their company, but they are unbelievable at what they do.

Thanks for all the pics guys...I really appreciate it!! For now I'II do it up like rancid13, I think that will look sweet on a blackline. Once I save some money, I definitely want to swap it out for a Lucky F*cker, swing arm mounted like DBH6601!!

Is the fender support welded to the swingarm or held on with the axle?
Unlike you guys wanting to shorten the rear fender, I'm considering extending it and a support would fit the look I'm going for.
