First off, welcome to the forum from Southern Kalifornia.
The corrosion dealership had to of been right down on the beach because Kali does not use road salt for ice removal.
ABS and Security, a single package, can be installed by the dealer, or yourself I believe, so that is not in issue.
The 103 has noticeably more power then the 96, but than again we are biased
The dealership is doing the right thing by the trade, go for it.

I took the 1K deal because they weren't willing to budge.

Good for you man!
Now you won't have to worry about where else corrosion is going to pop up. Sorry you had to break out another thousand but the peace of mind is definitely worth it.

Just an FYI

The ABS is a factory installed option only. The security system can be installed by the dealer.

True story... the old bike is still at my house. I returned the key/fobs to the dealer and the bike still starts and goes into gear. It doesn't ask for the security code or anything. Totally happy about getting rid of this bike. Screams future issues to me.

As others have said I would want to keep the ABS. Maybe you could work out a deal where you'll wait take the next one they get in stock that has ABS.

Or...maybe they can replace the rusty/bubbled parts.

Part of me worries that this may have been a flood bike from Hurricane Sandy. Can you verify it's location history via print?

I'm not too concerned about the ABS. I haven't had ABS on a bike yet so I suppose I'm not missing out on it because I can't truly appreciate it. Thanks for all of the warm welcomes and if anyone is from the central Wisconsin area let me know! I am always down for a cruise. Another note of the ABS... I don't feel like brining my bike into the dealership everytime I want to flush the brake fluid. Call me crazy but I don't trust dealerships. (Especially after this ordeal)
