Default Fatboy Rear Tire Question

I have a 2003 Fatboy. It is my first Harley and I bought it new in '03. The rear tire that came with the bike was a 150 (Dunlop D401 150/80B16). A friend of mine has a 2002 Fatboy and the tire was either a 130 or 140.

My question is, can you put a 150 on a 2002 or earlier model? I'm sure the wheel size didn't change so, is there anything else that would keep you from putting a 150 on it?

Just curious.....

I was really just curious to see if anything had changed between the 2002 and 2003 Fatboy or did they just put a slightly wider tire on the same wheel without changing anything else.

Look at my web here, easy to do.

You can shoe-horn a 150 in there without replacing the spacer and shaving the caliper, but I don't recommend it and you'll sleep better at night by centering the wheel.

Thanks for the info!

So, the wheel stayed the same but it was just moved over a little bit...
