I just got a Tripper to replace the vintage solo that is to wide for my narrow butt. Now that they have been around for a while can you post up how you've liked them as far a comfort and how they have held up, distances traveled in comfort etc...
I know about the C&C and the other seats just looking for information on the Tripper only thanks.
Is your Vintage Solo the Wide version so the Sport version? I have been considering going with the Sport Vintage Solo backrest model. I think the wide version would be too wide for me. What did you not llike about the seat?

It's the standard 14" vintage solo. It is too wide under my thighs it made my legs bow out at the seat and then I had to bring them back to set on the pegs. I have short legs so it put a lot of strain on my hips and made me get some serious cramps after an hour or so. The seat is comfortable but just to wide for me.
I thought about having my dad modify it for me like he did on my 87 seat but didn't want to change an otherwise good seat that I can sell to someone else. The seat is the one in my sig pic.
Just didn't want to get into the C&C versus mustang vs all the others as these threads always end up. Just wanted to know how people liked the Tripper. Changed the title so I don't offend anyone.

You sound like me. I am a smaller guy and also have short legs. Every seat I have tried seems too wide when I put my legs down. The only seat that doesn't do that is the one in my sig pic but it is a custom made seat that isn't made for long rides. It's plenty comfortable but just doesn't have that long ride support that I need. I can stand flat footed with my legs bent with this seat. Put on a Saddlemen or Mustang and I'm just about on my tip toes at the same ride height. I've decided to get the seat that will suit me best and looks the best then take it to Mean City Cycles for a custom fit. this way I get all the comfort and style but the riding position and height will be where I need it. I don't think there is a seat made that will fit me like I want right out of the box. I'm going to go with a Mustang Sport Vintage Solo with backrest and have it worked by mcc.
Too bad yours doen't have the backrest or I'd by it off you.
