Default Wide or Standard Mustang Solo Seat?

I've narrowed down my seat choice to the Mustang Vintage Solo seat, but I'm not sure if I should get the wide or standard? Its going on my 05 1200r with detachable windshield and detachable sissy bar. I'm 5'11' 200 pounds. I plan to use the bike riding around town a lot and 1-2 day trips next spring.

I'm trying to keep everything detachable so I can easily convert it into a sleeker one up bike for around town. So that's why I'm going with the solo seat. I plan to buy the separate passenger seat in case my wife ever wants to go out for a ride with me.

Does anyone have any advice on which seat I should go with?

I have the regular vintage solo on my 08 1200C and have been very pleased with it. I am the same height and weight as you and have had no problems. I think the wide solo seat looks a little to wide for the bike in my opinion.

Regular vintage. Don't need no stinkin' wide seat on a Sportster!

I also have the regular width Mustang vintage solo seat on my N. It's plenty wide to sit on, comfortable, and looks appropriate on the bike. The pic below apparently needs updating.

Yes if you are thinking about getting the wide then at least look at one in person. They dont look right on a sporty at all.

I ordered the Mustang with detachable back rest. But I don't see where they have anything except the 15in wide available in the vintage style.

At your size, wide. I have the regular and I actually didn't like it so I sent it to Mean City Cycles to have the foam replaced.

Cool 12.5 wide for me

I'm 195 Lbs nekkid an 6' tall
37" waist an I got no *** so says my wife XD
What *** I have fill's this seat up,,If I had a 40" waist I'd want the wide.
the 12.5" Is perfect and It lines up with the Oil tank n battery cover.
the 14/wide model will hang over a bit.
I can use my Oil dip stick without mashing the seat edge outta the way,,

Ohh, I see, only the wide is available with the removable back rest. Oh well, with my bad back I need it, so wide it is.
