Default New Summer Build..

Well the time is here in MN and gonna start the year build up on my CMC Rocket 88 (softail custom). Basically like the looks of the baggers and yet still have the lean of a clean one off that stands out at least a little. Dropping the stock 21" front and moved to a 16x3 with a heritage fender. Everyone is big wheel crazy and to be honest i wanna be different and enjoy the stability and handling over the price tag. Memphis Shades detachable batwing, after market hard bags with the cycle visions softail bagger system. Moving from my drag bars to a set of black Flanders 12" Wide apes, and a new paint scheme. Already have stretched tanks, so i need to find a proper rear fender to complete the majority...and the little misc. stuff im still just kind of looking and grabbing as I go. Any input as to what people like dont like will help. Donnie Smith Show coming up here in a week, so the snow still on the ground, dont hurt (only the need to ride haha). Probably looking for parts there as well. Just transported the girl to my heated location so its only a couple days till the tear down starts. Pics to come. SEMPER FI

I like where it is heading. Are the cycle vision brackets quick detach as well? Are you going with the same paint scheme? I mean i guess since ur frame is the same color. Keep em coming I have yet to start my winter mods... just sitting in a pile in the living room.

Nice to see a fellow MN guy in here who shares the same 11 month (Seemingly) winter pain. Lol...

I'll be heading to Donnie Smith as well, was planning on looking for a new jacket and a set of bags for my trip coming up in June.. Waiting on tax money to get those... Filed taxes about a month ago, through H&R Block... Got an E-mail today that said there may be issues with one of the forms, and I could be expecting another 4-6 week wait. WTF? That is really going to screw up my bike show purchases that I was expecting to have my tax money for!!

Can't depend on the government for anything these days... Unless you want a free cell phone, food stamps, and welfare.... Ahhhhhh... Oh well, I guess.

Haha yeah no doubt right Kizzle...good thing I didn't get hit with the tuitions bs that they stripped from a lot of my military bros too..would have been world war 3 here! @Elizer...the brackets are quick-detach for the bags...yes. But when u pull them then its still the brackets on...simple though and i also have the quick detach harley sissy that still functions with all of it as well so that a bonus for a passenger. The color is Changing big pearl white top split by red to match the frame in center on to black bottom. The new front wheel is a 16 black powder coated rim and hub with chrome spoke. @Raddazzz..currently they only have the hog tunes setup that works for that..so theres that. But being that its quick detach also im thinking im gonna run bar mounted in the case on super hot days i wanna drop the fairing and roll the apes. Thinking on doing the inside sub mounts on the inside wall of the bags (toward the wheel). There was a kit i seen for it that seemed pretty slick..i just dont trust some knuckle heads not trashing the lid mounted ones..lol. Hate to have to discipline someone!

Thanks QC, not much different then yours. Color and pipes really! Question for you what does your dash look like and does that have a speedo in it or is that whats on the bars (figured a tach)? I wanna relocate my key since i have to replace because of the tumbler pins are all jacked....but current dash doesnt have a spot for it nor the backing plate to mount if i were to drill it out? Pretty pumped though, I just got the front Heritage fender (picked up for $50) and fender filler pannels ($65) today in the mail. Bars should be here shortly and maybe next week snap some pics before I start tearing it down. need to get into it before next weekend so i know what to look for at the show...otherwise its a compulsive buy.
