What Makes a Vicla?
Lots of 'Vicla build is ON' type threads over the past few years, but what do you feel actually makes a Vicla? Is it something you just know when you see it or is there a list of things that make it so?
Benway, that's a GREAT question because it may have slightly different meanings for different riders or bike owner's. I started thinking of this, reading and looking a little over 2 years ago, a year before I even bought this bike. Vicla is what I had in mind when I bought this bike too. I didn't pursue that look for the 1st year because every time I logged on here everyone seemed to be talking about one or building one so I thought they would be ever where! The truth is I did not see 1 single bike all last riding season in the area and I am just outside of Chicago. I am not saying they are not out there I am just saying I never seen one. I went to many biker watering holes, pig roasts, run's, ride's and event's and I never seen 1 single "Vicla"! So, in the past few months I went out and spent about 4k, if not a little more, on new parts for a winter transformation into a "Vicla". My bypass put a slight damper on that but my buddy is going to take care of that for me. "Vicla", to me is, Apes with internal wiring for that clean "Vicla" look, cholo's at least 39"'s, lowered front and rear. A "Vicla", to me, is also a clean look with simple lines and anything to give the bike the illusion of looking a little longer too. The Cholo's accomplish that and the lower the bike the longer it appears. It also has nothing on it. No bags, no windshields, no "frilly" things all over it. It also has stretched fender's on it but thats not going to happen for me until next winter along with paint. It also has to have a little performance upgrades as well. Those are many so it depends all on what the owner wants for performance. I prefer a bike with a bite as big as it's bark. And CHROME, OH MY GOD YES, CHROME everywhere! A really nice "Vicla", to me, is a bike that nearly everyone looks at and say's, Damn, "I love that bike" or "****, I wish my bike looked like that" or even "I wish that was my bike"! I also think by adding "frilly stuff" to a "Vicla" build could ruin that look by trying to fit to much into the same small amount of space. A "Vicla" is low, long, clean, chrome and bad *** looking, bad *** biting! I could be way off the mark but that's my idea of a bad *** looking "Vicla" as I see it.

Most are going to be slammed with a 21" or bigger front wheel. Apes or beach bars. Cholos pipes.
Most, you will know as soon as you see them. Other's look like they are part way there.
I wouldn't consider either of your bikes Viclas... yet.
