which front end
first my bike is a 99 fxstc
I want to upgrade the front end and really wanted to use the progressive mono tubes. well they only make them for 2000 and up I called their tech line and all they said was one of 2 things the engineers didn't try them on my model year bike or they will not fit. I don't think there is a difference between 99 and 2000 front ends but not willing to spend the money and try. so what are my other options I was looking at race tech with the gold valves or ricor inertia or works which one will be the best?

I can tell you the part numbers for the 2000 - up tube assemblies are different than those for your 99, but only the last 2 digits (46004-91A vs 46004-00) of the p/n were changed. This could mean it's the same part with subtle updates for the year, but it probably won't match exactly.
I'm running the Ricor Intiminators with a Progressive 2" drop spring kit. Because I put them in at the same time as the drop, I can't compare the drop with or without the Ricor's, but I can say it rides just fine to my tastes. It's a stiffer ride than stock, but I wouldn't call it entirely harsh, and brake dive seems to be more controlled than with the stock setup. There's a few more guys running the Ricors in here, hopefully they'll chime in with a bit more info. Good luck!
