I purchased a harbor freight jack roughly about a year ago. Used it a couple times and became very scared of it. There is no safe way to control the descent rate of jack. I installed a bolt in the pedal to try and adjust the descent rate. Didn't really work out too well. My son saw me use the jack one day when I was cleaning my sled. He asked me not to use it again. So for my birthday he purchased me J&S jack. One of the best birthday gifts I've ever received. Sled is real sturdy when on the jack and very easy to move around. I highly recommend it. If you lived near me I would give you the harbor freight jack.

Well I really wanted the Black Widow lift because it has side extensions available to put on it so I can work on my quad as well but im not spending 275 on shipping costs. I found it on a few other sites and the shipping is similar to what discount ramps is charging...I guess I have to go with the Harbor Freight one. Thanks for the help guys
Actually in the same boat. Went to auction to buy one. Was a handy sam 1000 with side ext. Brought new price. So I have narrowed it down to a titan 1000xlt or the 1500xlt. Worst part of a $1000 lift is $300 shipping. Luckiky I'm 40 minutes away from jp cycles. So I don't have to worry about shipping.
One thing to check is ur local napa/carquest. Priced a forward lift.. for about 800$... and no shipping charge.
My thinking on the subject u get what u pay for... just didn't feel safe lifting a $13000 bike with a $300 lift. Yes they work. Just piece of mind I guess. If it wS just used for the quads and mower I would go for it.
I bought the Titan 1500. I know it seems you don't want to spend $1200 on a lift and I don't blame you but as others have said, you get what you pay for. I looked at the HF lifts and I'm sure they work but, I'm a fabricator by trade and know "cheap built" when I see it. Wont see my 30K plus sitting on one of them. If you use it only for routine maintenance, I say go for the HF one.
