Default Is CA the only severe pollution state?

Looking to pick up a new bike and ship out here to Australia. Is CA the only state with the severe emissions requirements?

If so how do they differ from the rest of the bikes?

Thanks.

Yes, CA is the only US state with those emissions laws. They have evacuator cans for fuel vapor and tighter tunes but I think the rest is the same.

Dont believe all the nonsense. Around 2010 the Feds used Cal emissions as the standard hence bikes are "50 State" bikes. Prior to that, the diff was Cal bikes had a canister to collect fuel vapors. It does not effect performance at all. The canister can be removed, but not worth the hassle unless you need the space or looks perhaps. Mine is still on my bike, it cant be seen on a softail. In other words, get the bike you like no matter the state.
