Looks like you have a deep bucket seat on your avatar already, so maybe try some different bars. I prefer a lower bar but not drag bars, which helps my naturally crappy shoulders. But those adjustments will only help alleviate the symptoms of a problem.
I'd say get it checked out, at least an x-ray and a DR opinion to see where you stand.
I need surgery on my shoulder, torn labrum about 10 years ago and probably more damage since I've never done pt. 16" gangsters killed my shoulder, everyone said it'd be great but it sucks. I dont know why but it does, I'm trying 14s when they get here and hope that helps. Weather supposed to be 60 tomorrow so I'm rolling them back to see if that helps, if it does 14s go back and flyings come in. We shall see. All I know is all this week my shoulder and chest muscle have not hurt so bad since I originally injured it.
Hey neighbor, no mean to derail this post, but I just left the DARBAR in Millbury after a couple beers. Live on Grafton Hill in Worcester and work at St. V's. Call the Kasbar home. Where you be?
I have had cancer 4 freakin' times. As a result, I have all kinds of issues from surgery's and circulation problems. A moderate set of apes and an oxycodone prescription are the only reason I am able to truly enjoy my motorcycle on any really long rides. Like its been said, get to a Doctor and see what they will do for you. With todays modern surgery techniques and advancements in medicines, anyone who lives in pain today does so voluntarily. IMHO

bikerlaw - I am very sorry to hear about your health problems. From what I can tell you're a true fighter and a trooper!
You are absolutely right too - the surgery techniques and equipment are so far advanced that the risk is minimal and recovery much faster than back in a day. Almost anything can be done arthroscopically!
I've been down this road. Had a Honda VTX several years ago and found that the drag bars on it caused shoulder pain and arm pain. Solution: Get some pull back handlebars and relax. Doesn't hurt to have a back rest either.
I LOVE that avatar old time boxer and the Bitch mint thing!! The sad truth is though that the very 1st thing I go for in the morning when I crawl out of bed is my pain pill's. The down side to that is that I have been taking them for so long that it takes me 10 to 12 a day just to get through. 1 puts allot of people on the couch, I pop 4 at a time and think nothing of it. I know it sounds horrible but until you have lived in pain 24/7 don't judge and be very grateful it's not you. To all you kids out there, be very careful with what you do to and put your body through because you will wake up one day, older, and clear out of the blue it will come back to bite you dead square in the ***. If you need surgery get it and get it over with. I just had a triple bypass and it's only been 6 weeks and my chest already feels much better from where they cracked me open. I am going to try to ride this summer and get my shoulder repaired in the fall because with this bypass all my deductibles have been met for this year. I am sure work won't be happy with me missing 4, 5 or 6 months of work this year but that's just to damn bad! They have gotten their" pound of flesh" out of me over these past 25 years now it's time for me to get a bit of that back from them.
