92 fatboy tranny issue
Was going up through the gears last night and heard a clunk going into 5th. The heel shifter was stuck down. I down shifted and was able to go down to 3rd and figured it had worked out but once I got back into 4th and fifth again I started getting a clicking sound almost like geares werent meshing right. It wont go down past 4th now. I pulled the top off the transmission last night and cant see anything obviously wrong. Need some advice.

I don't know but if it took a crap on you it sounds like a perfect excuse/reason to upgrade to a 6 speed!!! The 6 speed has your bike doing less work on highway miles which in turn adds miles and life to the motor and tranny. Just food for thought and my .02 on the matter.

I would be looking at the shift forks and make sure the pawl did not sear off or if a fork broke. The tranny will need further inspection beyond looking down from the top cover. Just by it being those two gears and you mentioning it clicking etc. I would start my search with the shift fork for high gears.
