Default TC88 cam plate question

I was checking the cam chain tensioners on my tc88 and sent some pics to a friend to verify they were ok. He said the pads were fine but noticed what he called a pop-off valve on the top of the cam plate. He told me this was a very bad thing and the only real fix is to replace it with the SE hydraulic cam tensioner kit with the new style cam plate and high volume oil pump. He says i probably have 50% less oil pressure because of this. It's a 2001 fatboy so i don't have a oil pressure guage. I do notice that the valve train is pretty noisy so i assume that's probably due to not enough oil getting to the top end. The tensioner pads look great. The bike has 45k miles and runs very strong, no issues.I have attached pics so please let me know what you guys think.

I personally would not worry about it. I've never heard of that being an issue. If you're concerned about low oil pressure, you could install the baisley spring in your cam plate, but if the bike runs fine, it more than likely is fine. Besides, they all have noisy top ends.

That is at the top of my list for the very next mod to my bike, the new cam, cam plate setup and the new tensioners, to my bike once I get it up and running and I get back to work to build my cash stash back up. I am not so much worried about what I now have even though I have a lot of motor work but I want the advantage of increased flow, increased sump and running cooler with that kit.
