Laughlin River Run
If my bike were back together I would LOVE to pull it out and go. Sorry guy's, after 400 or 500 miles I have to crawl off, roll around in the grass for about an hour, pop some pain pills and wait for them to kick in. My old body is paying for "errors" against it in days gone by. I would also just like to show up at your booth JD and introduce myself. Having the bike there show casing your product, safe and sound, while I walked around sounds very cool too. Do you ever get to any "Midwest" or "east coast" functions, rallies or bike show's? I also have seen where guys have made reference to getting a room, has anyone ever had any problems with people screwing with your bike while it sit's out in the parking lot all night? I think that would concern me a bit and for very good reason too.
I'm a little nervous about that too. Hopefully people are respectful. Expecting lots of bugs and dust to be on my bike by the time I get there.
On a side note not to scare you guys off BUT there is always a risk at events like that. About 7 years ago I sold my 05' Ironhorse to my old man. He took it out there 2 weeks later and some ****tard on a minibike was doing wheelies in the parking lot and looped it. Off the mini bike went right smack into my pop's bike AND knocking it over into his buddies Nightrain that was parked right next to it. They squared up and he got the tank fixed and a new paint job with some sweet *** ghost flames lol as well as his buddies train got fixed as well, but still. Get a ton of people and beer together and **** is bound to happen! I'm fully insured so F' it! I'm still going lol! I'm staying across the river though in a small hotel where the parking is right out in front of the room. I suppose I could tie a string from my bikes bars to my big toe while I sleep just to be safe lol.
Take I8 to highway 79 and go towards Julian, at Julian take highway 78 east to highway 86, go north on highway 86 to I10, go east on I10 to Desert center and take Highway 177 north/east, highway 177 turns into highway 62, keep going north/east at Vidal Junction turn left and go north on highway 95, at needles go east on I40 to Cou Route1, turn left and go north Cou Route1 turns into Courtwright road and then turns into highway 95 Mohave valley highway this will take you to Bullhead City right across the river from Laughlin.
Not sure where in northern San Diego county you are but this route looks good:

Well, I will tell you guys a God honest story about my bike and why I asked about having them messed with while sitting out in a parking lot. I used to live in Pasadena Texas many years ago. I lived in an apartment complex with maybe 200 apartments. I had no garage but we did have car ports. I used to park my bike under the car port, lock my neck and putting a huge Master lock on my rear sprocket. About 2 in the morning I have someone pounding on my door. I woke up and answered the door and here was a guy, standing there on my porch just getting home from work and he asked me, are you the guy with the black Harley? I said yes I was, it was a 78 Super glide. He said when he pulled into the parking lot there were 3 or 4 guys lifting it into a truck bed. When they seen him, this guy started yelling and beeping his horn, they dropped it and took off. I thought, "You no good M*#@er F@*@er's. They did a little damage when they dropped it. Well, I got the bike fixed and bought another huge Master lock I put on the chain, the one on the sprocket and locking the neck. I thought SURLY they would never come back to the scene of the crime, tying it again having almost gotten caught the 1st time. Did you notice I said "the 1st time"? Less than a week after I got it back, again I have someone banging on my door. These guys didn't screw with no locks and there were only 2 of them this time and they new they couldn't lift it so do you know what they did? They pulled up, threw a big chain around it and took off DRAGGING it across the parking lot until they could get away from the Apt. and help to load it. When this person pulled into the parking lot they dropped the chain and took off like a bat out of H$ll leaving my bike there in the middle of the parking lot beat all to hell. That one cost me 2 or 3 grand and that was back in the early 80's when that was A LOT of money! They didn't care about any damage because they must have just been after the motor, tranny or what ever they didn't ruin to part it out. I was NEVER so mad in my life, HOW BALSY WAS THAT? You know, 3 or 4 guys can lift a bike and throw it in the bed of a truck and be gone in under 2, maybe 3 minutes if that. That people, is a true story so help me God. From then on, after I got it fixed, I sold it and bought a 75 MG midget. I knew I didn't have a place to store the bike so I sold it and the MG was a rag top so I still got to ride in the open air. There is NOTHING worse, IMHO, then a liar a cheat or a thief!

The cops place bait bikes out at the run.
Year before last, they caught one and had him cuffed on the curb while they took evidence photos.
I'm going to cable my buddy's bike to mine. That with two Xena XX14 disk locks, (120 db) and the Siren II, they aren't going quietly into the night...
