I will be thinking of doin something with my wheels on my black fatboy. A buddy told me I should get them powder coated black. It's an idea, but I was wondering 1. how much i might spend? 2. does anyone have a pics of what it might look like? and 3. would it be a lot cheaper than some cool rims(which is what i really want.)?
Thinking about getting my rims and hubs powedercoated as well. Total cost is about $50-%60 each for the powdercoating. The most cost involved is getting the tires taken off, the rims taken apart (spokes taken out, etc.) and then getting them reassembled afterwards.
Why don't you guys ask Nikonf8 to take a pic of your bike and photoshop the wheel/rim color of your choice in.
Then you can see what it would look like before you have to spend any money for something you might not like later.
I was quoted $75 dollars each for a color and a clear powder per wheel. I think black would be okay. Check out your local powder coater. I'm sure he has many other color choices as well. There is like 20 different silvers to choose from too!
I also know its 400 to 600 to get fatboy wheels chromed.
The first one on the link is the one I would love to put on my fatty when I can afford it. It would look awesome wtih the 360 brake.
Good luck
Jeff
