Default Mystery Item

Ok, I'm working on a brothers 2008 Deluxe. Long laundry list of items to service and repair. As I'm taking off parts, I'm inspecting everything for damage, deterioration, proper fitment and clearance.

The 2 attached photos are of the underside of the passenger seat. In the first photo, center of the picture and slightly to the right, is a threaded hole. In this hole is a Chrome Plastic Cap shown in the second photo. This cap can be unscrewed and removed with your fingers. What is this for??? This is a factory seat but I cannot determine the purpose of this chrome plastic cap. It does not rest on anything. Almost seems to be a spare part of some kind.

It's not an important issue but I'm curious.

Its to fill the hole that is left when you take off the passenger seat. I didn't like it and went to Ace Hardware and got something that sat flush.

Hey Thanks. Now I get it! The purpose of this little item bothered me all day. You're right it is a cheesy item.
